There are many aspects to be considered when creating a garden design. Here are a few of the items which we take into account when designing a garden for our clients.
What is the garden for?
Knowing what the purpose the garden will have is the foundation of any garden project. Do you plan to use it in order to bring color to your yard? Are you having a gazebo built or is the garden going to accentuate the path to your front door? Perhaps what you are looking for is to have the scent of flowers surround your property? All of these purposes require very different layouts for the garden in question.
What is the quality of your soil?
Depending on what you are looking to cultivate, – annuals, hybrid perennials or native plants - the soil will need to be a certain quality. It is important to assess the soil of your property to see what may or may not need to be added.
What is the sun exposure?
Depending on the location of the selected garden space plants you are looking to grow, you will need full sun, partial sun or shade tolerant plants. To achieve the right amount of sun you may need to change the placement of your garden or remove obstacles which are preventing adequate sun access.
Do you have a color scheme in mind?
Do you want the color scheme to be a reflection or compliment your interior space? Don’t like yellow? Love blues and purples?
These are only a few of the considerations which Ladybug Gardening takes into account when designing a garden.
If you know that you would like a garden but are unsure of the other details; that is not a problem. We will come to your property, survey the landscape and suggest a number of different options which your property offers.
